PARADICE is a pocket-sized dice game born in a beach bar on a southern island. Designed as a small toy for passing the time, just rolling these tropical-iconed dice gives you a taste of island life. Even in a city with no sea or palm trees, keep one in your pocket, and you might feel a warm breeze from the distant south.
Roll three dice and compete for high scores. The rules take about a minute to learn. Play with 1 to 4 people. The goal is high scores—but unlucky rolls can drop you to 0 or into the minus. Roll, or stop. That decision is what the game is all about.
There are 3 dice, each with a different mix of tropical icons.

The game doesn't begin without her—the beautiful goddess of the southern seas, and the key to scoring. She has no points of her own, but without her, nothing scores. One RANI and the other two dice add up. Three RANIs mean a miraculous jackpot. But two RANIs? Things flip into the minus...

Roll a TIKI and your turn ends immediately at 0 points—the dreaded dark god.
He returns everything to nothing. Out of all 18 faces across the 3 dice, he hides on only one—but when he appears, the tide of the game can turn completely.

It's all about the RANI count.
Out of 0 to 3, how many show up?
Without a RANI, no combination scores—no matter how high the icons are.

Just add up the points on the other two dice.

With two RANIs, the score flips. The remaining die's points become negative.

A miraculous triple RANI. A ~0.9% chance of landing this massive jackpot.

Regardless of any pattern, it's an instant 0 and forced end of turn. The dark god hides on only one of the 18 faces across the three dice.
Now that you know how scoring works, here's how to actually roll. With 2 players, take turns. With 3 or more, play one turn each, going clockwise.
First, roll all three. Then choose: stop here if you like what you rolled, or re-roll to aim for a higher score.
Keep the dice you like where they are, and pick the ones you want to re-roll (1, 2, or all of them).
Your score is decided by the three dice at the end of your turn (unless a TIKI came up). See the previous section for the scoring rules.
Roll, or stop—that line is where the magic of this game lives.
Beyond this point lies the bottomless swamp and the deep jungle.
There's a lot to read, and a lot to think about.
If you still wish to step in, please, follow the path.
PARADICE isn't officially sold in any store anywhere in the world. That's because it was never made to be sold—it was born to be played, by as many people as possible. The greatest joy for the creator and the development team is simply that people who encounter PARADICE have fun playing it and come to love the game.
But how to get one remains a mystery. You might come across it by chance at a beach bar, a seaside shack, a late-night bar somewhere in town, or a guesthouse on your travels. When or where, though—no one knows.
